About
Cassandra, also known as Cassandra Pinataro, is an artist bringing a new perspective to the pop music scene. As an opera singer and pop singer-songwriter, this award winning songwriter has strong vocals and a range that spans over four octaves. She is determined to stretch the limits of pop music and bring classical music back to the mainstream. Follow her journey on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook @youknowcassandra.
Cassandra is currently creating a new genre she likes to call “Popera”. Blending her backgrounds of opera and pop music, she has created a new sound that even the top industry executives say they've never heard before. She recently released, “Carmen” which is available to stream on all platforms!
Cassandra's pop career began in 2021 as she released several singles while honing in on her sound. Notably, she released, "Meanwhile in My Head," "Only Christmas Wish," (feat. Bryan Ruby), “Free Woman,” "Next Christmas," and "Business Casual”. Most recently, Cassandra released, “Queen of Every Night,” and “Till They Do”. Cassandra was a finalist winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, an honorable mention in the Unsigned Only Songwriting Competition Pop/Top 40 category, and a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for her original song, “Queen of Every Night”.
Cassandra's opera career has kicked off with scenes of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro as Suzanna, Bernstein’s West Side Story as Maria, Lee Hoiby’s A Month in the Country as Lisavetta, and in Mozart’s Cosí Fan Tutte as Fiordiligi, and in fully staged operas of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore as Gianetta, Strauss’ Die Fledermaus as Adele, and most recently the role of Goldie in Goldie B. Locks and the Three Singing Bears with the Nashville Opera.
Cassandra currently performs with the Nashville Opera. In the spring of 2024, she performed as a soprano ensemble member in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and as a lead soprano in the company's Opera on Wheels Program. Today, she is a part of their Opera Out Loud Program and Education Tour, performing opera and musical theater scenes across the state of Tennessee. This spring, she will continue as a soprano in their performance of Bizet’s Carmen.
Throughout her life, she has been involved in many genres of music and has obtained a Bachelors of Music in classical vocal performance at New England Conservatory in Boston, MA and a Masters of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music Online while living and creating music in Nashville, TN and Los Angeles, CA.

Cassandra Pinataro, is an artist bringing a new perspective to the pop music scene. Equally as adept singing opera as she is pop, this John Lennon Award-winning songwriter is known for her strong vocals (including a range that spans over four octaves) and stretching the limits of pop music.
Cassandra has created a new genre she likes to call “Popera”. By blending her backgrounds of opera and pop with her “alluring lyrics” (Broadway World), Cassandra has created a new sound that top industry executives say they've never heard before. Her newest single, “Queen of Every Night” can be found on all streaming platforms!
This year Cassandra will be performing with the Nashville Opera on several of their upcoming projects. In April, she will perform as a soprano ensemble member in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and throughout the Spring 2024 season she will be a lead soprano in the company's Opera on Wheels Program performing opera and musical theater scenes across the state of Tennessee.
In addition to her busy classical schedule, Cassandra continues to release pop music tracks. In 2021 she released monthly singles leading up to the release of her first EP, "Made for Me". Since then, she has released a total of 14 songs.
Simultaneously, Cassandra competed in the Miss America Organization winning the titles of Miss Boston 2022 and Miss Music City 2023. While in Boston, Cassandra placed as the 1st runner-up to Miss Massachusetts and the talent winner of the Miss Massachusetts competition with her performance for “Les oiseaux dans la charmille” from Les Contes d’Hoffmann. In Tennessee, Cassandra was 3rd runner-up to Miss Tennessee and talent winner of the Miss Tennessee preliminary competition with her performance of “Glitter and Be Gay” from Candide. During her reigns, Cassandra led social justice and philanthropy projects and created a movement focused on wellness and mental health awareness through online content and school visits in the Boston and Nashville areas. As an advocate for the arts, particularly the classical arts, she regularly led classical performances for elementary school students.
Cassandra's early vocal endeavors landed her roles as Marty Maraschino in Grease, Rumpleteazer in Cats, and she even originated roles for new musicals. She later went on to win competitions such as the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition and the Southern Tier Music Teachers Association Concerto Award. During her college vocal studies, Cassandra performed in scenes of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro as Suzanna, Bernstein’s West Side Story as Maria, Lee Hoiby’s A Month in the Country as Lisavetta, and in Mozart’s Cosí Fan Tutte as Fiordiligi. She also performed in operas such as Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore as Gianetta and in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus as Adele.
